On October 10th the Empress of the Seas set sail from Terminal G in the port of Miami for a 7 night Western Caribbean cruise. Originally scheduled to sail to Cuba the itinerary was forced to be altered after the US government put sanctions in place preventing cruise travel to the island. Scheduled to depart at 4:00 PM she was nose to nose with the slightly larger Vision of the Seas who was also scheduled to depart at 4:00 PM having just returned home from a transatlantic voyage. Just as she prepared to depart a few drops of rain fell over the ship as storms could be seen both over the downtown and Miami Beach areas. As she made her way down the channel she passed Mein Schiff 1 who was spending the day in Miami as a port of call. Once she made it out to sea her luck ran out as she was forced to sail directly through a wall of rain before emerging on the other side to a beautiful sunset. This video was filmed on 10/10/19 while departing from Terminal G in the port of Miami Florida. 7 Night October 10th, 2019 Western Caribbean Sailing Itinerary: Day 1: Miami, FL (10/10/19 Departing 4:00 PM) Day 2: Key West, FL (10/11/19 from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM) Day 3: Day at Sea (10/12/19) Day 4: Puerto Costa Maya, Mexico (10/13/19 from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM) Day 5: Cozumel, Mexico (10/14/19 from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM) Day 6: Day at Sea (10/15/19) Day 7: Perfect Day CocoCay, Bahamas (10/16/19 from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM) Day 8: Miami, FL (10/17/19 Arriving 7:00 AM)
