Exploring Martinique by car -St Pierre, cemetery, black sand beach

Buckle up as we set off from Fort de France in a rental car on a journey through time and terrain. It's a beautiful island, where driving can be perilous! Lots of switchbacks, very narrow roads, blind curves and deep gutters on the side of the road. We visited Saint-Pierre, a lovely little town that was devastated by the eruption of Mount Pelée in 1902. We saw some of the ruins, went to the market, and walked through town.
