(Flam) (pronounced Flom) Home of Flamsbana Railway spectacular journey, and Flam Railway Museum. Steppingstone from Flam to Stegastein Viewpoint, Naeroyfjord cruise to Gudvangen and Aurland on Aurlandsfjord. You cannot do all that is offered in Flam in one day from a cruise ship. You will need to pick and choose or stay. We would have liked to do The Flamsbana rail journey and the power boat ride on fjord, impossible to do all. We decided to do Stegastein Viewpoint excursion by coach which included (Osterbo Mountain Lodge /cancelled because heavy snowfall) and Aurland with new addition of Gudvangen Viking village and Stalheim and secondly the cruise to Aurland on Aurlandsfjord and Gudvangen on Naeroyfjord. We ended up doubling up because of change of itinerary but one was by coach through tunnels and Naeorydalen Valley and other by Naeroyfjord cruise, both beautiful and both totally different as you will see by Vlogs. There is great Norwegian crafts and clothing in stores in flam and great food outlets. Perfect place to stay and branch out on excursions if you have longer time as there are a number of hotels and resorts in the area. There are also luggage lockers near railway station if you are moving on from cruise or want to spend the day without luggage and also a couple of free public toilets in Flam, which is handy if you are walking around.
