Great Central Railway 'WINTER STEAM GALA' - 31/01/2015

The Great Central Railway's annual 'WINTER STEAM GALA' from January 30th - February 1st 2015. The theme of the event was the Great Western Railway with two visiting engines joining the resident fleet (two of which were built at the GWR's Swindon Works) working passenger services (full length from Loughborough to Leicester North and a Local from Loughborough to Rothley along with a DMU local service. There was also demonstration Freight & Mineral Trains plus the Traveling Post Office demonstration. The full line-up was as follows... - BR(W) 1500-class 0-6-0PT No.1501 (visiting from the Severn Valley Railway). - BR(W) 7800-class 'Manor' 4-6-0 No.7820 "Dinmore Manor" (visiting from the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway). - SR N15-class 'King Arthur' 4-6-0 No.777 "Sir Lamiel". - BR(M) 'Ivatt' 2MT-class 2-6-0 No.46521. - LMSR 3F-class 'Jinty' 0-6-0T No.47406. - LMSR 8F-class 2-8-0 No.48624 (in weathered BR Black livery). - BR 'Britannia'-class 4-6-2 No.70013 "Oliver Cromwell". - BR 'Standard 2'-class 2-6-0 No.78019 (final gala appearance before withdrawal for overhaul). - BR 9F-class 2-10-0 No.92214. - BR Class 101 DMU Nos.50321+51427.
