Hellesyltfossen Waterfall, (Hellesylt) Norway. We arrived on our 2nd wonderous day in the Norwegian fjords. Just breathtaking! Hellesylt lies at the head of Sunnylvsfjord near Geirangerfjord. From Hellesylt you can take a fjord Cruise to The Seven Sisters and The Suitor Waterfalls on the spectacular UNESCO listed Gieranger Fjord. There is a large vehicle and passenger ferry that leaves from here that can take you to the amazing village of Geiranger. It also doubles as an alternative way to see the fjord on a sightseeing round trip. Hellesylt has a population of about 180 permanent residents and 800,000 tourists a year (OUCH!!). There is accommodation in Hellesylt at the Hostel and motel and there is also a camping ground which has accommodated many film set crews for impossible mission Movies with Tom Cruise. I believe you would need to book in advance as it is very popular destination. If it is warmer months, good fitness level with weather permitting, you can hike to Geiranger from Hellesylt. Hellesyltfossen waterfall that tumbles down 20mt and divides the town with such incredible power that you can hear it thundering from over 1/2 a kilometer away Tom Cruise (Impossible Mission part 1) does a base jump from Mt Helsetropen near Hellesylt, a ramp was built at the height of 1246mt for this motorcycle jump with base jump to the valley floor.
