About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Descriptionโ†“

This video shows some of the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, as seen on our 2018 summer road trip. Kellyn and I kicked this vacation off by driving up I-5 through California, past the scenic Mt. Shasta. We raced an Amtrak train that was running on the tracks parallel to highway 97 near Klamath Lake. Then we visited Train Mountain, not far from Crater Lake national park. Train Mountain features the longest miniature railroad in the world. Next we spent a few days on my sister's farm outside of Pasco, Washington. One of the most memorable days was at the home of one of our Washington family members who has an amazing backyard retreat featuring a beautiful swimming pool and whirlpool. Then it was on to Portland, Oregon, to deliver a Polar Express train set to my nephew's son. This train set wasn't compatible with my G-scale trains, so I didn't want to keep it as part of my train collection any longer. Karma worked its magic, though... as my brother-in-law recalled that he had an old G-scale train set in storage that he had used to run around the Christmas tree when his kids were young. He hasn't run it in years, so he decided to give it to me... and it turned out to be a great match with all the other G-scale trains in my collection. Next, we moved over to the coast of Oregon to meet up with my other sister and my brother for our annual family reunion. We had a lot of fun exploring scenic places along the Oregon coast, including the Heceta Head lighthouse, just north of the town of Florence. We played in some tide pools at low tide, and poked some sea anemones... and we visited Sea Lion Caves, a tourist attraction that was well worth the admission fee. Just be sure to bring a set of binoculars, and a camera with a zoom lens. Subscribe to my YouTube channel so that YouTube will suggest my future videos to you as soon as they are released. I've been sharing a new video every Saturday, and the next one coming up will be a longer look at that Bachmann steam train set that my brother-in-law gave me.
