NOTICE: A 20 second portion of the naming ceremony had to be cut so you will notice a jump from no music to some music. Royal Caribbean's newest Icon comes to life in the form of LEGO bricks! In Episode 2 of this 3 part series, you will take a journey throughout passenger ship history, from Ocean Liners, the early cruise industry, and Royal Caribbean's past newbuilds in order to fully understand why and how Icon came to be and what influenced her creation and design. You will also take part in the journey of secrecy that encircled "Project Icon" for many many years as well as her construction and delivery. And, of course, you will finally get to see my nearly 10 foot long LEGO model of Icon! At the end of the video is a tease for an upcoming LEGO model and historical video. The model was built well before Icon was completed, so many of the structures, colors, and features were based off of renderings which sometimes showed different iterations of the same thing. There are places in the build that do differ from what is now on the actual ship that simply did not exist or were changed well after the build was completed.
