Creator's Key Takeaways
This has been a really surprising day. But yeah, really enjoyed today. What what a great surprise that was.
If you can come here on carnival day, I would recommend it. Bring a costume, too.
We've never had so many towel animals. I love it.
One of the favorite things, if not the favorite thing about cruising for Marella Cruises, is the staff appreciation.

Hi everyone, In this week's Marella Explorer 2 Canarian Flavours cruise series we arrive into Puerto del Rosario, #fuerteventura. We started with a bit of a tour around the Market Place buffet and get some lunch and an ice cream from here. This was another windy day, which was a running theme from our time in the Canary Islands! We didn't realise until we did a bit of research but the day we had arrived here was actually in time for Carnival: Achipencos. This was such a fun, vibrant atmosphere with lots of people in costumes. The Regata de Achipencos is one of the most anticipated events of the Fuerteventura Carnival. In this fun competition, held in Puerto del Rosario, participants build floating contraptions called "achipencos" using recycled materials. It's a celebration that highlights the joy and ingenuity of the islandโs carnival. We managed to see a lot of the achipencos and they were so creative! So glad we were here on this day. We had a couple of drinks from a pop up bar and tried a beer called Tropical while we took in all the entertainment and atmosphere. We loved it here! We then made our way back to the ship and went to the pool deck to relax with a drink and to listen to Muzzik Unlimited who were performing. We then went back to the cabin to start packing the cases and to get ready for the evening. We had heard there was going to be a BBQ on the pool deck but due to the weather they brought that into the buffet, we really enjoyed the food for the BBQ they had a great selection! We then went to Squid and Anchor for the nightly trivia and then straight to the Broadway Show Lounge to watch Abba Life Story. This wasn't our favourite show but the show cast were brilliant as always. Following this was the Marella Crew appreciation led by cruise director Alex. This is always wonderful and so deserved, the crew are incredible and the heart of #marellacruises . Following this we went back to the Squid and Anchor for the Game Show but left after a little while as we prefer the ones where the whole room is involved. We instead went to watch The Collective in Indigo and they were fantastic! We finished the night watching The Big Explorer 2 Band Jam which was so much fun! What an end to a fantastic day / night. We decided to order room service again and get some rest ready for Gran Canaria in the morning. We can't wait to share more of the #cruisevlogs with you!
