MSC Cruises Ocean Cay. THE BEST PRIVATE ISLAND.* Tour this island with us. If you cruise on MSC in the Caribbean, chances are you'll visit Ocean Cay. Some say it is the best cruise line private island. Is this true? Recently, we had the opportunity to see for ourselves. Come with us as we take a tour of the island. Ocean Cay is part of the Bimini Island chain in the Bahamas. MSC Cruises uses Ocean Cay as a private getaway for their guests. The island is a marine reserve. MSC, through its foundation, is committed to revitalizing the island and the ecosystem it supports. This is MSC Marine reserve. 🏖As we take our tour, take note of everything the island has to offer. There are no water slides or wave pools here. While there are a limited number of excursions available, most of what this island has to offer focuses on relaxation. With six major beaches, there is a spot for everyone to sit and enjoy the white sandy beaches and cool turquoise water. There's even a lagoon in the middle that offers a swimming pool type experience. Don't worry about large fish with sharp teeth in the lagoon. There are shark nets at both ends to keep Jaws out. 🍔🍟🍦🍺Food and beverages are available on the island, no need to run back to the ship for lunch. If you have a drinks package for the ship, it works on the island as well. The included food options are a buffet with burgers, hot dogs, and fries along with salads, fruit, and desserts. For a quick bite on the go, check out one of the food trucks scattered around the island. They offer a more limited menu. One food truck offers seafood dishes such as lobster rolls (at an additional charge). 🛶For those looking for a little more adventure, there are kayaks, paddle boards, small boats, and catamarans for rent. 💆‍♀️💆‍♂️You can also pamper yourself at The Spa Ocean Cay. Here, you can get a massage in a private cabana next to a beautiful Caribbean beach. Bucket list item? 🤵‍♂️👰‍♀💒If you're planning a wedding, look no further than Ocean Cay's own wedding pavilion. Situated on a secluded end of the island, the pavilion offers private changing rooms and a gazebo overlooking the water. Hard to beat this location for one of the biggest days of your life. You're pretty much having your wedding and honeymoon all in one place. 🍻🍹Our favorite spot on the island was the Lighthouse Bar. The patio, with its big comfy chairs and shade umbrellas, was a perfect place to sit and enjoy the views. From here, you can gaze out over the water, marvel at the size of the cruise ship, and sip a cool drink all at the same time.
