The whole 3-hour experience is NEW and I couldn't wait to hop on board to check it out. You spend around 90 minutes on the train itself (the journey there and back) and another 90 minutes at the stop of Katterat, high in the Norwegian mountains close to the Swedish border. Here at altitude you usually (80% of the time) have a better chance of seeing the Northern Lights then elsewhere. It caqn be snowing in the town of Narvik (where you catch the train) but then up in Katterat the skies were clear - at least that was my experience. The whole thing was brilliantly done with free drinks on the train and free drinks and snacks available in Katterat itself. Watch the video to find out more.
