The Princess and I have just returned from the first (and last for a while) cruise on this ship. We share our honest take on all the updates with our 9 Things We Loved About Freedom of the Seas and the One Thing We Didn't! If you enjoy the video, please make sure to give it a BIG THUMBS UP! Freedom of the Seas is now sailing from San Juan, Puerto Rico offering 7-night cruises to beautiful ports in the Southern Caribbean. While all of the onboard updates were plenty of reason to cruise on the ship, getting to visit the ABC islands was one thing we loved about our trip on the Newly Amplified Freedom of the Seas. On the open air decks, we loved the addition of the Caribbean pool space, as well as the transformation of the pool bars to the new Lime and Coconut. The bright and colorful theming, as well as the new drink menu, make you feel like you have already arrived in the tropics. Other updates include the addition of an El Loco Fresh poolside, with the first ever tequila bar. Inside, the ship is the first in the fleet to receive the redesigned Giovanni's Italian Kitchen specialty restaurant. We enjoyed our first dinner there so much, we made reservations for a second time later in the cruise. We also really liked the addition of Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade. The location, open feel, and new menu items were a hit. Of course, the Newly Amplified Freedom of the Seas is also home to typical line up of nightlife and entertainment, with two production shows, several headliners, and other adult fun such as the Love and Marriage Game Show and the Crazy Quest. While there was a lot to love about this ship, there was one thing we didn't- the staterooms. Given Royal Caribbean was sprucing up most public areas, and actually adding dozens of cabins, we were surprised that our stateroom looked like it did not receive any refurbishment during the dry-dock.
