On MSC cruise ships like #MSCSeascape and #MSCSeashore there's an easy way for your stateroom attendant to know if you're in your room, whether it's time for him/her to tidy up, or if you want to be left alone. Just outside the stateroom, there's a light panel that alerts them to the "status" of the room. When your key card is entered, a red light is shown, indicating the room is occupied. When removed, it turns green, letting them know it's vacant. Ready to have your room serviced? Press the button inside your stateroom and it turns orange. Don't want to be disturbed, press another button, and it changes to blue. It's the little things :) plus, no kids can steal your "do not disturb" sign from your door!
