A 5-minute walk from the quay brings you to the center of the village. Once you disembark the ship, you will see vendors selling various excursions like Loen steepest skylift (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipkf8uS3sVk) or trolley ride in one of Norway's most picturesque village (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5lZsAX2_HA) Olden is close to the Jostedal glacier, the largest in Europe. This glacier is part of the Jostedalsbreen National Park where you can walk through the forest to admire the flora and fauna as well as the majestic landscape. To get to the Briksdal Glacier, you will pass by its emerald-coloured lakes bordered by vertiginous mountain walls. To get there, the ship will use the Oldeelva River. It’s worth getting up early to admire the landscapes of the Nordfjord as you pass. Video taken on 7/18/2022 while cruising with Norwegian Star and Olden is now one of my favorite cruise ports.
