http://www.ncl.com/excursions/search?Ntt=KAK55 A visit to the ancient site of Olympia is a must when you spend the day in Katakolon. And finishing your visit with the flavors of Greece and the sounds of Greek music will end your day on a happy note. Leave the small fishing village of Katakolon and travel through the countryside to reach the mystical site of Ancient Olympia, some 25 miles to the east. Visit the remarkable site where the first Olympiad was held. The most imposing monument in this area was the outstanding Temple of Zeus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Today, you'll only find the ruins of the temple and the gold and ivory statue has disappeared, but you can imagine how grand it was. Broken columns of the Temple of Hera, and remains of other monuments still rest in the once sacred grove. You can enter the famous Stadium, through a long tunnel-like passage and stand where many ancient athletes competed. After your visit to Olympia, return to Katakolon where in one of its seafront tavernas, you'll savor a selection of Greek appetizers accompanied by ouzo served by waiters who will delight you with dances to the tune of lively Greek music. At the end of the tour, return to the ship by bus or stay for a stroll through the village. Note: There is approximately 1 1/2 miles of walking on uneven ground and gravel. Snack is included. http://www.ncl.com/cruise-destination/europe/overview
