Creator's Key Takeaways
we are a part-time travel couple from Southeast Missouri thank you for joining us today as we journey to our 34th country the kingdom of the Netherlands
while this was a very somber visit I'm so glad we did visit I read the Diary of a Frank in school as a child and now to visit the place where she hid was a surreal experience
truly one of the most emotionally charged places I've ever visited but an absolute must for any visitor to Amsterdam
it's a sobering reminder to me of man's inh Humanity to man you know identifying people and discriminating against them because of their religion or their belief that's just stupid to me

Our cruise on the Norwegian Prima has made it's first stop and we are going to visit our 34th country, The Netherlands. Amsterdam is the Netherlands' capital and is known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades, legacies of the city's 17th century Golden Age. Its Museum District houses works by Rembrandt and Vermeer. Cycling is key to the city's character, and there are numerous bike paths in the city. Amsterdam dates back to the 12th century and is home to Medieval and Renaissance buildings. We saw many of these while visiting. As an American visiting for the first time, I had a list of things I wanted to see and a list of foods I wanted to try. Topping the list were the wooden shoes, tulips, windmills and of course the famous Red Light District! We were steps of the ship when several things on the list were seen! Ha Ha! Our first museum visit of the day was to the Anne Frank Museum and the Anne Frank House. I contacted them about filming for our You Tube channel and they gave us a press pass. This is the first time we have ever had a Press Pass, so needless to say, I'm feeling very special! LOL! Our visit to the Anne Frank House and Museum were amazing and if you read the book like I did in school, you should really plan to visit. It is an experience you don't want to miss. We next visited another museum called, Our Lord in the Attic. This was a Catholic Church that was hidden in an attic. This church was built in the attic when it became illegal to practice the Catholic faith in public. This very well preserved house is amazing not only for the church, located at the top of this canal house but also for the house it' self. If you ever wanted a peek inside a Dutch house, this is a great place for that as well. We rounded out our museum visits with a tour through The Amsterdam Tulip Museum and The Amsterdam Cheese Museum. Both are great stops and really inform you about the way of life in Amsterdam. We walked through the Red Light District. Interesting........ Not sure what I expected but if you just want to see it, late morning is very tame. It was plenty for me though! We walked around the City Centre of Amsterdam and had an amazing time seeing Bicycles everywhere and just enjoying the people and the sights. The canal system is amazing and I never tired of walking over the many bridges and seeing so many different and highly decorated boats! Amsterdam did not disappoint and if you ever get the chance, I would say GO! It was an amazing place to visit. This video is only of our adventures in the morning. We have another video coming out next week about all the foods we ate and our visit with a local for dinner! Please be sure to LIKE this video and Subscribe for more of our adventures! We REALLY appreciate it! Thank You! We know that we are "Living the GOOD Life!" and we hope that you are too! Proost!
