We spent a GREAT day in Inverness, Scotland! We docked on Norwegian Dawn in Invergordon and signed up for the excursion called 'Inverness on your own'. Which basically was a bus transfer into the city and time on our own to explore. But our guide gave us some great information on the area and some tips on where to go while there. We made it into town right around lunch time so we wandered the city until we found our lunch spot. Our guide said there are a lot of great pubs but for food go to The Highlander on Church Street. The food was SO GOOD!!! Hearty traditional Scottish fare that really hits the spot. Definitely a step up from the pub food the day before. Bellies full, we wander next door to the Victorian Market, which you guessed it, was founded in Victorian times. But it has been modernized and even has a full food court. While in the shopping mood, we popped into a couple of shops to get proper clothing for Scotland! Raincoats and Wellington boots! And once properly dressed... it stopped raining.
