Ovation of the Seas with tugs ready to assist sails gently through the beautiful scenic Marlborough Sound back out to sea. A pilot boat followed the ship for the full length of the sound. It was on this occasion that I was approached by a delightful American couple. We started a pleasant conversation while watching dolphins frolicking close to the ship in perfect sunny conditions. During this time I related to them of one of my epic journeys, in 1988 to end 1990 driving a 1969 VW campervan around the world starting out from San Francisco to the top of Alaska and then down to the most southerly point of South America through all of Central America, the jungles of Brazil and the Amazon River, across the awesome inspiring Andes Mountains and much more. I did not realise that the conversation was being recorded but I have decided to attach the story from the beginning for anybody interested to listen in. Enjoy.
