When Virgin Voyages decided to set sail they set out to redefine the definition of a cruise. This included changing the most fundamental element of it, the dinner experience. Instead of the massive buffets that cruises have become known for Resilient Lady introduces a new style of venue known as The Galley. This large venue on deck 15 features a variety of individual venues from which to get food from. Each venue has its own hours of operations and in some cases different offerings depending on if it's breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack time. Some of the venues like The Daily Mix, The Sweet Spot, and Bento Baby allow you to order in person and take your food back to your table while other venues like Hot Off The Press, Diner & Dash, and the Burger Bar are services by waiters that come to your table to take your order and retrieve your food for you. This creates a unique experience that blends the self service and table service dining experience while still offering the large variety of options that a traditional buffet venue would have. The primary advantage though is that unlike a buffet all food is prepared to order and plated for presentation. So if you want an omelette, taco, panini, sushi, salad, ramen, Burger, or pastries you can find what you want in The Galley. During the month of September Virgin Voyages held its second annual Eat & Drink Festival. As part of this month of special culinary offerings they developed an event known as Taste of The Galley. Taking place on sea days during dinner hours it features a DJ along with a special dish at each of the food stations in the venue. Every sea day between 4 and 7 p.m., The Galley transforms into a gastronomic showcase offering a diverse array of flavors from all around the world.
