Date Filmed: April 29th, 2021 Hello Friends! We are getting close to the day we have all been waiting for! THE RETURN TO CRUISING! Wednesday evening, (April 28th, 2021) the CDC released a letter to the major cruise lines stating new key clarifications in efforts to resume sailings as early as Mid-July 2021! In this letter, the CDC stated their willingness to work with the cruise lines to meet this Mid-July goal. Here are the Five Key Clarifications/Guidelines stated in the letter: 1. Cruise ships can resume sailing without test cruises taking place if 98% of the crew and 95% of passengers are fully vaccinated. 2. The CDC will review and respond to applications of test cruises from cruise lines within 5 days rather than the previously stated 60 days. 3. The CDC will update it's testing and quarantine requirements to passengers. For example, vaccinated passengers can take a rapid antigen test upon embarkation rather than a PCR before boarding. 4. Cruise ships may enter into a "multi-port agreement" as long as all ports and local authorities sign the agreement. 5. Passengers who may be exposed to or contract COVID-19 may drive home or quarantine at a hotel if they arrived to cruise terminal via plane. With these new clarifications in place, we are feeling very optimistic for U.S. cruising to resume in July! There is still a lot of information that is still unknown, but we are so thrilled with today's news and excited to see what comes next!
