I have been to several ports including a different one in Cozumel. The store keepers at this port are super aggressive and do not understand no thank you means not interested. Security in and out of the port is also extremely tight. Drug sniffing dogs going into the port and TSA style security coming out of the port make it more difficult to enjoy your time in port and make you have to take extra time to leave in order to get back to the ship in time. Note, you cannot take any liquids through the check point at the port heading back to the ship.
