Scarlet Lady: Malaga Spain on December 2nd, 2024 (with Brilliant Lady & Norwegian Pearl)

On November 28th Virgin Voyages' Scarlet Lady set sail on a 16 night From Rome to Miami Transatlantic Voyage crossing both the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. Sailing from Civitavecchia (Rome) she made stops in various ports along the way. This was her first sailing after returning from Virgin Voyages first ever dry dock and completed her inaugural Mediterranean season as she sailed home to Florida. Every Virgin Voyages ship has unfortunately been delivered and then left to sit for roughly a year before setting sail with passengers on revenue sailings. This is once again true for the final ship in the fleet, Brilliant Lady, who was delivered in Fall of 2023 but won't set sail until late summer 2025. As a result she has been floating around the Mediterranean, originally staying near Italy where she was built, but more recently opting to sit anchored off the coast of Malaga Spain. As Scarlet Lady made her approach to spend a day visiting Malaga, the Brilliant Lady suddenly started moving and sailed into port ahead of her. This setup a rare meeting of two Virgin Voyages ships, and even more rare, the first time that two Virgin Voyages ships have been docked together after leaving the shipyard. Brilliant Lady pulled in forward and docked while Scarlet Lady sailed past her and then turned around positioning the two ships bow to bow. In the middle of the day Brilliant Lady turned around in the port and returned to her dock positioning the two lady ships in the same direction facing towards the harbor exit. While the first 3 Lady Ships are nearly identical, Brilliant Lady has a few tweaks to enable her to sail through the Panama Canal. This primarily centers around deck 7 where the mid (The Roundabout and Pizza Place area) and aft (The Dock) overhangs were removed. They also modified the design of the lifeboat davits to enable her lifeboats to slide farther in the deck. This resulted in the deck 8 balconies behind the lifeboats also having to be adjusted with smaller balconies known as the (Slightly) Smaller Balcony Sea Terrace category featuring two hammock swings. Of course as a new ships she also features a new mermaid as well. In addition to Brilliant Lady the Norwegian Pearl once again made an appearance arriving after Scarlet and leaving after her as well.
