Southampton Maritime Festival & SS "Shieldhall" Cruise - 06/05/2013

To celebrate the 175th Anniversary of Southampton Docks, a special festival was held in the grounds around the 'Ocean' Cruise Terminal from Sunday 5th to Monday 6th May 2013. The festival had several exhibits ranging from the SS "Shieldhall" & ST "Challenge" to Traction-Engines & Buses. There was also a brief fly-past each day by an RAF Avro Lancaster Bomber. The major highlight of the Monday however was a 2-hour cruise aboard the "Shieldhall" which sailed up through the docks towards the Container Terminal before backtracking as far as Hythe Pier and then returning to the "Shieldhall's" dock at Berth 48. This footage were taken on Monday 6th featuring the cruise aboard "Shieldhall" and taking in the cruise ships "Saga Sapphire" and the brand-new Hapag-Lloyd's "Europa 2" plus moored commercial ships "Anvil Point", "Alina", "Grande Detroit" & the laid-up "Qingdao Tower".
