Creator's Key Takeaways

the entire family got up close and personal with a wild lagoon full of hungry sharks

the kids thought that was the coolest thing maybe especially reagan maybe especially colt maybe all three of them

it was so cool and then it was really hard to get reagan out of the water she didn't want to leave

the big huge daddy pig just got into our dinghy and stole the bag of apples

Creator's Tips & Advice

Be prepared for a shark feeding frenzy at Compass Cay; it's safe but can be startling.
Bring apples to feed the pigs on Pig Island, but keep them secure as pigs can be aggressive.
Plan for a full day of activities; the itinerary is packed but manageable with good planning.

YouTube Video Description

In what was certainly our most exciting travel day so far, our yacht captain took us to 3 Exumas hot spots: The Washing Machine, swimming in the middle of a shark feeding frenzy at Compass Cay, and playing with the swimming pigs on the world famous Pig Island! The Washing Machine is a natural lazy river that swirls among sea-turtles and stingrays in a massive spin cycle around Shroud key. It's an intimidating phenomenon that appears determined to rush you out to sea with incredibly strong currents. While these sharks presented little risk of bites/attacks, there were dozens of them in a wild environment and they were all very hungry. Seeing them surround our kids was nerve wracking but it was so cool to feel these hydrodynamic creatures pushing their way past you with their rough skin. No trip to the Exumas would be complete without visiting Pig Island and playing with these adorable creatures! We were lucky enough to visit just days after the birth of the tiniest little piglets you've ever seen. Some of these pigs were cute and friendly, but some were aggressive and downright criminal as they stole our food and tried to strand us on the island!
