After spending well over a year at WCRC Carnforth being overhauled, SR unrebuilt 'Battle of Britain'-class 4-6-2 No.34067 "Tangmere" finally returned to the Southampton area on Saturday 11th June 2011. "Tangmere" is seen passing through Totton in the early morning of the 11th at the head of the 'Railway Touring Company's 'Welshman' from Poole to Cardiff. This trip was originally supposed to be worked by BR 'Britannia'-class 4-6-2 No.70013 "Oliver Cromwell", but the 'Brit' was busy elsewhere so "Tangmere" stepped in. Using "Tangmere" as a replacement may have been a bad move, the loco stalled near Filton and had to be piloted by a diesel the remainder of the way to Cardiff.
