Wow, this is quite a trip/ship/cruise - I'm so pleased I've finally been to Egypt. I've been wanting to go forever and it didn't disappoint. I loved EVERY SINGLE SECOND of this cruise. This video offers a whole ship tour of TUI River Cruises new river cruise ship the Al Horeya which is their first ship to sail down the River Nile. The film looks at top deck, the facilities - swimming pool/hot tubs etc.. the cabins, food/drink and entertainment as well as some of the tours it offers and the ship's resident Egyptologists who guide them. The video also looks at the voyage highlights, from our visit to the Valley of the Kings (the ancient burial site of great Pharaohs) which is where Tutankhamun is buried as well as Hatshepsut Temple, Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple where the Avenue of the Sphinxes begins. It also shows what it's like as you set sail down the River Nile towards Aswan and the things to see and do there, from visiting the High Dam to a trip in a Felucca boat (a traditional Egyptian sailing boat) to Elephantine Island (home to the Nubian people) to enjoying a sundowner at the Old Cataract Hotel, which is where Agatha Christie famously wrote Death on the Nile. Another absolute highlight was a hot air balloon ride over Luxor when we returned there at the end of the cruise. This video gives you an excellent taster of what to expect to see and do during your week-long voyage with TUI down the River Nile. It's hard to believe that these ancient temples/hieroglyphics are over 3k years old and still standing, many of them in excellent condition.
