Victoria BC Downtown Area (4K)
YouTube Video Descriptionโ
We actually walked from Ogden Point, the Victoria cruise port where our cruise ship was docked, to downtown. You can see our video of the cruise terminal area, along with our other Victoria BC Canada ones in this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKZWB-uCIzwTHjLId5w-JMFf4QyVZtzQr In downtown Victoria BC area, we saw quite a few highlights/landmarks. First we checked out the Harrison Yacht Pond, then saw the home of Emily Carr, a famous Canadian artist and writer in the early 1900s. We then arrived at the British Columbia Legislature buildings, which included water fountains and the BC Search and Rescue Volunteer Memorial. We then viewed the impressive Fairmont Empress Hotel, then had a nice view from the marina of downtown and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. We then saw the Centennial Carillon tower on Belleville St. We also of course took a look at the Royal BC Museum- it was already closing in about 30 minutes so we did not buy tickets (our ship didn't arrive in Victoria until 1 PM). We were lucky that the Victoria Aboriginal Cultural Festival was happening and that was drawing a big crowd. This was via our June 2017 14 Day Alaska cruise aboard the Holland America Amsterdam.
