Viking Grace comes to Mariehamn for the first time without the rotor sail, so much better aesthetically. The rotor sail technology has been tested on Viking Line since 2018. The innovative rotor sail technology developed by Finnish Norsepower has been tested on Viking Line for three years. The rotor sail generates traction through the Magnus effect and thereby reduces the ship's need for propeller power. M / S Viking Grace was the world's first passenger ship to be equipped with a rotor sail. In April, the test run of the rotor sail on Viking Grace will end. Viking Line wants to continue testing new climate-smart solutions on its ships.
