This week we're kicking off a brand-new cruise series aboard Princess Cruises' beautiful Majestic Princess! And this isn't just our first time on this ship… This is our VERY FIRST Princess Cruise. We honestly had no idea what to expect. We've heard all the stereotypes. Princess Cruises is often known for attracting a more seasoned crowd and older passengers, so we couldn't help but wonder… Can a young family with two small children enjoy a Princess Cruise? To make things even more interesting, we're sailing during Thanksgiving week on an 8-day holiday cruise, and this is our first long cruise vacation as a family of four. Cruising with two kids is already an adventure by itself! Our daughter Laiah is only on her second cruise ever, and although we've sailed with both kids before, it was only on a short 3-day sailing. Eight days is a completely different challenge, and we're still learning how to navigate cruising with two little ones. As soon as we stepped onboard Majestic Princess, we quickly realized we had absolutely no clue where we were going. Because we've never sailed on Princess Cruises before, we immediately found ourselves getting lost while trying to explore the ship. But one thing was immediately obvious… This ship is BEAUTIFUL. Since it's the holiday season, Majestic Princess is fully decorated for Christmas, which made Dee extremely happy because Christmas is her favorite holiday. After getting settled into our stateroom, we continued exploring the ship before completing our muster drill and heading to the buffet to fuel up for sail away. And that's when we experienced our first big surprise. The sail away party was nothing like we're used to. No massive dance party. No huge crowds around the pool. No wild energy. Instead, people were simply relaxing, enjoying the views, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere as we sailed away. It was incredibly calm, laid-back, and surprisingly refreshing. Later, we headed to the Main Dining Room, running late as usual. To our surprise, dinner service was slower than what we're accustomed to on other cruise lines, but the food… WOW. The food was absolutely amazing. We had no idea Princess Cruises served food this good, and it completely exceeded our expectations. Later in the evening, we dropped PJ off at the kids club and headed to the Piazza for one of the most magical moments of the day—the Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration. The Majestic Princess entertainment team absolutely knocked it out of the park with incredible singing, dancing, and enough Christmas spirit to make anyone smile. This embarkation day was full of emotions: 😬 Nervousness 😅 Anxiety 😳 Stress 😊 Excitement ❤️ Happiness 🤔 Uncertainty But through it all, we're excited to see what Princess Cruises has in store for us over the next eight days.
