I was excited to see Haines, AK on my recent Alaskan Cruise on Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas. I'd never even heard of Haines before, but I'm so glad I got off the ship and walked around. There's Ft Seward, Bald Eagle Foundation/Museum, lots of bars and restaurants, including Fogcutter, Three Northmen, The Lighthouse, and The Haines Brewery. The most intriguing was the Hammer Museum. Who'd have thought? I really enjoyed walking around in the few hours I had before getting back on the ship. I think next time I go to Skagway, I'll take the ferry to Haines, if it's not one of the ports.
