Oh the excitement and anticipation to be in Alaska again... We fell in love with Alaska on our NCL Bliss cruise in September 2018 and were so excited to come back on this test cruise! Plans were made in Ketchikan for a ride in a float plane and maybe a chance to see some bears... but it is raining. And I don't mean a light rain. I mean 100% chance all day and it is coming down sideways rain! So the float plane ride was cancelled and we were told the bears would not be active in high tide. So all of our plans are shot... We can get off and wander in the rain on our own... or we can stay on the ship. Guess what won? The Thermal Suite of the Spa, that's what!!! We decided this would be more enjoyable since we would not really be able to experience Ketchikan as it should be experienced. And how lucky were we... we had it pretty much to ourselves! NCL has the BEST thermal suites we have seen to date! I can just live in the massive theloussus pool! There is also a steam room, sauna, salt room… and SNOW room!! Plus so many padded and stone loungers. Jason and I can take a bad situation and find a silver lining! And for dinner... we went to 'Q' which is the specialty dining BBQ joint... and let me tell you, it was some of the BEST BBQ we have had!!
