Day 2 onboard Independence of the Seas was a full sea day — but not your typical Caribbean-style one. As we sailed north from Southampton toward Oslo, Norway, this day was all about slower pacing, lighter crowds, and some unique moments you don’t often get on newer Royal Caribbean ships. In this episode: • Late morning and pool time on a sea day • A relaxing onboard massage • Hibachi dinner at Izumi • Evening entertainment in the Royal Theater • Walking out onto the helipad (a Freedom-class perk you don’t see much anymore) • Watching twilight at nearly 10pm as we sailed north in June • Drinks and live music at Schooner Bar and the onboard pub This was a shorter, quieter day onboard — but also a reminder of how different European sailings and northern itineraries can feel compared to Caribbean cruises. If you enjoy realistic cruise vlogs, sea days onboard Royal Caribbean, and seeing what life at sea is actually like, I hope you enjoy Day 2 of this series.
