Here are some beautiful images I captured with my Canon DSLR during our recent cruise through the Panama Canal on the Norwegian Bliss cruise ship. This HD video is intended to show you what I saw over the course of an entire day, as we made the very long voyage from the Caribbean to the Pacific Ocean via the new Panama Canal expansion. The canal expansion, completed in 2016, allows larger ships like the Norwegian Bliss... the 9th largest cruise ship in the world... to travel through the Panama canal rather than having to travel all the way around the tip of South America. The practical effect of the canal expansion on the cruising world has been to make it possible for the cruise lines to position their newer, largest ships on the west coast of the USA, including Alaska and the Mexican Riviera.
