The 4th day of our Canada Cruise finds us in Sydney (aka Cape Breton Island) Nova Scotia. Royal Caribbean's Jewel of the Seas arrives bright and early and after breakfast, we spend a little time walking around the small town (Charlotte Street) and down the boardwalk. We of course visit the World's Biggest Fiddle and the Sydney sign. We take a short break back on the ship in order to take sea sickness meds for land sickness and prepare for our excursion. The Membertou Medicinal Walk & Culinary Experiences starts with a short bus ride to a park where we learn how the Membertou use plants and herbs in medicine. We then visit Kiju for a wonderful lunch. We make a quick stop at the Membertou Heritage Center before returning to the ship. A change for dinner is necessary since we dine at Chops Grill after drinks at Schooner Bar. Full from steak and cake, we enjoy some music in the Safari Lounge and see City of Dreams, one of the main shows in the Coral Theatre.
