Creator's Key Takeaways

Many times people who have never been on cruises make comparisons based on what they know from movies, of course.

The Symphony is 1,184 ft long and 215 ft wide, meaning it's longer and in terms of width, it's twice as wide as the Titanic.

On the symphony there are 2,200 crew members and 6,680 passengers. Meaning 8,880 people on the Symphony compared to 3,327 on the Titanic.

We complain today that the bathrooms and toilets are small, but on the Titanic, most people were in rooms without any bathroom or shower at all since those were shared by the entire deck.

About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description

Often people who have not been on cruises make comparisons to what they know from the movies, so when most people talk about cruises they compare them to the Titanic, but this is clearly an incorrect comparison. Although the Titanic was the world's largest ship at the time of its launch (over 100 years ago), it is one-fifth the size of today's largest ships, and when they are compared (in a computer simulation of course) one to another - the large cruise ships that sail today dwarfs the Titanic. In the video, we will go over the differences between what was then and what exists today and see an illustration of them to understand why a comparison to the Titanic is incorrect.
