Hey cruisers! Let's celebrate Friday with some cruise chat and the Famous Painkiller. We'll share the Painkiller Cocktail Recipe, and SHOW you how to make a Painkiller Cocktail. It may not be as good as the ones you'll drink in the islands, but we'll do our best! Missing cruising? So are we. Badly. Let's reminisce about the good times, and talk about what cruises we have our eyes on, when cruises resume! According to Wikipedia: "A Painkiller is a rum cocktail trademarked by Pusser's Rum Ltd, their signature drink. It is often associated with the British Virgin Islands, its place of origin. The Painkiller is a blend of Pusser's or any rum with 4 parts pineapple juice, 1 part cream of coconut and 1 part orange juice, well shaken and served over the rocks with a generous amount of fresh nutmeg on top. It may be made with either two, three or four ounces of Pusser's dark rum. The original Painkiller was created in the 1970s by Daphne Henderson at the Soggy Dollar Bar at White Bay on the island of Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands." PAINKILLER RECIPE: Ingredients 2 oz of dark rum (authentic Painkillers are often made with Pusser’s rum, but I'll be using Kraken) 4 oz pineapple juice 1 oz orange juice 1 oz cream of coconut (i'll be using canned coconut cream or milk) Nutmeg Directions In a cocktail shaker add all of the liquid ingredients and shake until well mixed. Pour mixture in a glass with ice, top with nutmeg, and enjoy!
