All shore excursions to Iceland's famous Blue Lagoon have been cancelled by Royal Caribbean for the next week after the tragic sinking of a ferry boat resulted in the death of a cruise passenger. Multiple ships are affected including Symphony, Mariner, Liberty, Allure, Adventure, Vision, Freedom and Anthem - passengers will receive refunds. More excursions may be cancelled depending on the investigation. In other cruise news, the US Coast Guard suspended its search for a missing Carnival Glory passenger after covering over 5,000 square miles. Unfortunately most cruise overboard cases do not have positive outcomes. The Coast Guard also ended its search for a missing MSC Seascape crew member after scanning nearly 900 square nautical miles. On a positive note, the Jacksonville, FL port welcomed its 3 millionth cruise guest aboard the Carnival Elation. Carnival is the only cruise line offering year-round sailing from Jacksonville, with the Elation scheduled to remain there through 2024.
