Epic Universe is Universal's newest theme park opening in Orlando, FL in 2025, but just HOW will that change the tourism industry here in Orlando and more specifically, how will Disney be impacted? Disney has been on top of the theme park mountain for decades, but with Universal's current two parks (Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure) climbing the ranks in terms of attendance and a world-class theme park set to open in a year, will that change? Is Disney currently asleep at the wheel while their biggest competitor has made huge strides to close the gap between them? I believe they are and I believe Disney is totally underestimating the impact that Epic Universe will have on market share. Visitors typically visit Orlando for an average of 7 days and now with Epic Universe coming, the amount of time spent at Disney will likely decrease for the average family. How will Disney respond?
