North to Alaska! In this first video in this series of our cruise on the Majestic Princess, we leave Minneapolis to fly to a whole new frontier for us- Alaska! We are so thrilled to see the mountains, and even some glaciers from the air as we approach Anchorage. The Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage is easy to navigate, and we enjoy seeing our first Alaska merchandise for sail in the shops there. We flew in a day early, so we rented a car and drove to Wasilla, AK to spend time with our son and his family for the day, as well as explore the area. Such beautiful views! The mountain range views were spectacular. That night, we got to stay in a hidden gem- Alaska's Lake Lucille Bed and Breakfast, which you will see the beautiful grounds of in this video. (see link below). It is set right on Lake Lucille, and couldn't be more stunning. The next morning, we enjoy the pristine lake views before driving back to Anchorage with mountain and water views all of the way! What a beautiful day! We then drive back to the airport to return the rental car and meet up to take the Princess transfer bus to Whittier, AK, where the cruise port is. You will see lots more about that in the next video in this series, which highlights embarkation day!
