YouTube Video Description

Welcome to cruisey sea days, I'm your host Danny and on this episode we are talking about what I think are the best things to do if you decide to stay onboard when a ship is in port. Now, you're probably asking, why would you want to stay on the ship? I’ve arrived at the port I want to see what it has to offer. What ever the reason that’s really up to you. Maybe you have been to the location plenty of times, a medical reason not to leave? Or It's somewhere you just didn't want to visit, there's plenty of reasons why you may want to stay on the ship. Tender away from ship? I've personally stayed on a ship one time when it was in port as my wife was pregnant and we figured it was just easier to enjoy the ship rather than fight with tenders and what not and let the rest of the family enjoy the Islands. While I love the Islands and all the locations, I’m someone that could happily have all sea days and still love a cruise, so I wasn't too disappointed that we did this. Alright let's get started. Let's get the boring one out of the way…. Washing machine / dryer Self serve laundry. This might seem like the most boring thing but it's really one of the better ideas. If a ship has a self-serve laundry onboard, now is the best time to do it! Most people will be off the ship which means you'll have the best chance at securing a washing machine and dryer. Throw the washing in, and enjoy the rest of the ship while you wait for it to finish. And since the ship will be a lot quieter, you're chances of your washing still being in the machine when you get back will be high. Tour the ship. Walking around ship - looking around? There are going to be less people onboard making it the best opportunity to explore the ship without the crowds, you might just find that one perfect location that you can make yours before the ship fills. The spa might be cheaper. Looking to go to the spa for a massage? Check out what the prices are when the ship is in port. Let's not kid ourselves, when the ship is full, the spa treatments are expensive! Since people are on holiday and are enjoying themselves, they are willing to pay the prices and the appointments usually book out as a result. BUT! if you go on a port day when the ship is docked you may find the spa is cheaper, The reason for this is the spa wants to fill the vacancies it has and this is the best time to do it. Unfortunately, this may not always be the case but it is your best chance. Head to the spa and ask. The worst-case scenario is that they will still have the same price as normal. Say no The best chance to win at trivia or other games. Let's be honest these games are popular when the ship is full and unless you happen to be really knowledgeable at a subject or get lucky show prizes the chances of you winning trivia is slim. while most people play for fun hand up. Some people still want to have that bragging right that they won. Since the ship has less people, there are more chances to win. The waterslides or other on deck activities Don't want to wait for a slide? I completely understand. Those lines are annoying, you wait for however long it is, slide down, climb back up and then wait again. And that's just for the waterslides. With newer ships now offering anything from ziplines to go carts to roller coasters. You don't want to wait, you're on holiday. When the ship is empty so are the lines! A bonus tip! If there are stairs to climb to whatever you are going to do multiple times, it'll save you a trip to the gym. Win-win. More deck chairs The ship will be noticeably quieter. Find a chair on deck, whether it is around the pool or looking out to the ocean, there's a good chance you won't have to look far for one as most of them will be empty. Sit and enjoy the sun and the ocean. You earned it. And if you haven’t already why not subscribe, it’ll help the channel grow Just relax. Take it easy, relax, if you don't want to leave the cabin you don't have too, call in room service. Pick your favourite bar. The ship will be emptier than normal, it's your choice. ******follow us on our other pages****** Facebook: facebook.com/cruiseyseadays/ Instagram: instagram.com/cruiseyseadays/ Tiktok: tiktok.com/@cruiseyseadays YouTube:
