Icy Strait Point ZipRider | World's Longest | Zipline | Hoonah, Alaska

ZipRider is a thrilling excursion in Icy Strait Point in Hoonah, Alaska. If you're looking for adventure on your next cruise to Alaska, THIS IS IT!! In July of 2022 we embarked on our first Alaska cruise together and wanted to experience new and exciting things. Our stop at Icy Strait Point was no exception when we discovered the World's Longest ZipRider. Being the thrill-seekers that we are, we simply couldn't pass up this opportunity. We had to take two aerial trams to get up the 1,500 foot tall mountain, but the views were epic on the ride up! There was a cool breeze at the summit, but we dressed in layers to thwart off any chills. We spent a few minutes taking it all in before making the journey back down to where the launch point was for the ZipRider. It was a steep road through thick forested areas. Just when we thought we were walking back to the base of the mountain, we heard a group of riders launch down the mountain on the thrill ride. Excitement built. We rounded the last corner and couldn't decide which we loved more: the breathtaking views or the daunting zip line that was ahead of us. We went through a brief safety spiel before we were ushered to the loading platform. Each person was assigned a specific line (there were 6 lines in total) according to their size/weight. We got assigned to our line, strapped in and waited with anticipation. 3 - 2 - 1 - LAUNCH! The ride was exhilarating! We had unobstructed views of both ships in port that day: Carnival Spirit and Carnival Splendor. As we careened down the line, we lost all worry and quickly got an adrenaline high. We were saddened by the views of the landing platform as that indicated that our amazing journey was coming to an end. Upon unhooking from the line and regaining our footing, we both celebrated the accomplishment of getting to ride the longest ZipRider in the World and immediately bought another ticket to experience the rush all over again!
