YouTube Video Description

The new LGB 72503 Construction Site Train Starter Kit is a $199 starter set with everything you need to get started in the world of big G-scale model trains. In this review of the starter set, I show you everything that comes with it: the locomotive, a gondola car, a dump car, a full 4-foot diameter circle of LGB brass track, and the controller and power supply that makes it run on standard house current. This is NOT a battery operated model train, and no batteries or tools are required to make this set work. I also show you the LGB 49501 Construction Site Extension Set which features another dump car, an excavator with a moveable shovel, a toy figure of a construction worker, and a number of little accessories typical for a construction site, such as barriers and signs. There are also some stickers included to decorate the dump car. I normally purchase my G-scale model trains from Trainworld.com, but there were out of stock of the extension set the day I wanted to order it. So, I bought mine from my second-favorite online model train store, OnlyTrains.com However, the prices on Trainworld and OnlyTrains do NOT include shipping, and these are fairly large items that are expensive to ship. The worst part is that neither web site will show you the actual cost of shipping before you commit to buying. So, you may find it better to buy this starter set at Amazon. Even though Amazon's price looks higher, the price does include shipping and in the end is going to work out to be about the same as if you bought it from Trainworld or OnlyTrains.
