YouTube Video Description

Last day in Lake Tahoe! What a beautiful place to stay. We have been RV camping at the Tahoe Valley Campground in South Lake Tahoe for the last four nights. We spend our last day going to Sugar Pine State Park to bike ride and visit the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion. There are miles and miles of biking around Lake Tahoe and neighboring towns that allows bikers of ages and abilities to participate in. The Hellman-Ehrman Mansion is a must see for anyone who loves history and beautiful turn-of-the-century architecture. The Hellman-Ehrman Mansion, also known as Pine Lodge, is a historic mansion located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe in California. The mansion is situated within Ed Z'berg Sugar Pine Point State Park, which is known for its beautiful natural surroundings and historical significance. Here are some key details about the mansion: History: The mansion was originally built in the early 20th century as a summer retreat for the prominent Hellman and Ehrman families. Isaias W. Hellman was a successful banker, and his daughter, Florence Hellman Ehrman, continued to use the estate as a summer residence. The mansion's construction was completed in 1903. Architecture: The mansion is a prime example of the "rustic" or "Adirondack" style of architecture, popular during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It features a combination of wood and stone, with large porches and open spaces that take advantage of the scenic views of Lake Tahoe. State Park: The mansion and its surrounding estate were donated to the State of California in 1965 by the Ehrman family. It is now part of Ed Z'berg Sugar Pine Point State Park, which offers visitors the opportunity to explore the mansion, its grounds, and the natural beauty of the area. Visitor Experience: Visitors to the mansion can take guided tours to learn about its history, architecture, and the lives of the Hellman and Ehrman families. The mansion provides a glimpse into the lifestyle of California's wealthy elite during the early 20th century. After the stop at Sugar Pine State Park, it’s time to get some food. We try the local BBQ and decide that it’s not the right fit for us. We’ll get pizza later. Cold Water Brewery has beer and wi-fi to get some work done, and so does The Hanger. Cold Water Brewery has many different styles of beer and the food looked and smelled delicious. The Hanger is a taphouse and has many food trucks located on the premises. They have a huge outside area that can accommodate large groups of people and lots of drink choices to choose from. The Lake Tahoe Pizza Company we saved for the end of the day. They were celebrating their 50th anniversary and have very good reason to do so. The pizza was amazing. We ordered a “taco” pizza and an appetizer of pesto chips. They served local beer, and the service might have been the best we had in Lake Tahoe. This was a great visit to Lake Tahoe and can’t wait to come back! 0:00 Intro 0:24 Leaving the Tahoe Valley Campground 1:40 Lake Drive 2:30 Lake Bike Ride 3:54 Meeks Bay 5:15 Sugar Pine State Park 8:51 Hellman-Ehrman Mansion 12:56 BBQ? 13:42 Cold Water Brewery 15:34 The Hanger 16:32 Lake Tahoe Pizza Company 18:34 Wrap-up https://thousandtrails.com/california/tahoe-valley-campground/?utm_source=yext&utm_medium=directory&utm_campaign=Yext%20Directory%20Listing https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=510 http://parks.ca.gov/?page_id=991 https://meeksbayresort.com/ https://tahoecoldwaterbrewery.com/ https://www.thehangarlaketahoe.com/ https://laketahoepizzaco.com/about/ #travelvlog #rvcamping #laketahoe #california #sugarpinestatepark 🎉🎈🥳Please subscribe to our channel to stay in touch so we can share what we are up to!🐕🌋🌅 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYptpWdN5KNCq5pwdvGNrhQ?sub_confirmation=1 Facebook: Just Ramblin Around TikTok: @justramblinaround Instagram: @justrambinaround Email: jrawithronandjodi@gmail.com https://share.epidemicsound.com/cyumoq ****About**** We are Ron and Jodi. We have been together since 1992 and have been traveling and exploring around the Pacific Northwest and beyond the entire time. Please join us as we go rambling around our next 30 years while living our “work hard, play hard” philosophy. We will try to show as much of our adventures, tips and reviews as we can through our journey practicing for retirement. This channel will be about adventures big and small, weekend getaways traveling in the motorhome exploring our region to flying away on extended vacations discovering new destinations. We hope to inspire others to make time to travel, explore and discover what our land has to offer. We love to check out breweries, restaurants, local hikes in the area as well as traveling away to see what other destinations have to show us. We take our dogs as much as we can, but some areas aren't made for our furry kiddos. Not every video will be an award winner but all we need is someone to laugh and enjoy the ride along the way.
