Unfortunately, the amount of rude tourists that attend the alms ceremony can completely ruin the experience. After a frustrating experience a couple days ago, Nate woke up early again in search of Luang Prabang's authentic alms ceremony. Getting away from the main street completely transformed the experience! The alms ceremony on the main road feels more like a monk parade for the tourist. However, if you visit some of the side streets of Luang Prabang, you can still find some locals participating in the alms ceremony, and you'll avoid the hoards of tourists!
