We have some important cruise line news to cover this week. We may actually see some sailings in June, an update on the Florida vs. CDC lawsuit and new ship that looks suspiciously similar to another ship. All that and more so be sure to check out our cruise line news today. We start today's cruise news discussing test cruises. Cruise lines and ports are busy making preparations to begin cruising. One of the requirements from the CDC is for cruise lines to do test cruises, unless they have a 98% of guests and crew vaccinated. There are now 8 cruise ships which have or are conducting simulated voyages, those are: 🦩 Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's Independence of the Seas out of Port Everglades 🦩 The Freedom of the Seas and the Symphony of the Seas out of Miami 🦩 Carnival Vista out of Port of Galveston 🦩 Disney Dream, Royals Allure of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas out of Port Canaveral Some ships are skipping test cruises and going right to restricted sailings. Two other ships which are mandating vaccinations are Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Equinox. There are additional ships on the west coast which are all mandating vaccinations and they are all based out of Seattle: 🦩 Carnival Cruise Line's Miracle 🦩 Majestic Princess 🦩 Nieuw Amsterdam from Holland America 🦩 Royal Caribbeans Serenade of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas 🦩 Celebrity Summit 🦩 Norwegian Cruise Lines Bliss This is a big cruise news update as there is clearly interest in cruising, Royal Caribbean had over 200,000 people apply to be part of these test cruises. Trying to keep up with cruise news today and what is happening with the lawsuits can be confusing. We break it down for you so you know what your options are this summer. There is a lawsuit that's been brought against the CDC from Texas, Alaska and Florida. Basically they want the CSO or Conditional Sail Order to be removed allowing cruising to go back to how it was before the pandemic. But this cruise line news update is not that simple. Right now if a cruise line says vaccines are mandatory, you could start sailings right away however since they are not allowed to do that as Florida has passed a new law fining cruise lines $5,000 per passenger if they are required to show proof of vaccination. Our cruise update wouldn't be complete if we didn't tell you about the new ship announcement from MSC. This new ship, the MSC World Europa will debut in late 2022 with 22 decks and around 205,000 tons and a total length of 1,093 ft long meaning its 4 decks taller than the Oasis class ships from Royal Caribbean but just a bit shorter. What makes this interesting cruise line news is that is looks a lot like Royal Caribbean's Oasis class ships. What do you think? Do you agree? The new MSC ship will be divided up into different `districts` which is basically what Royal does with its neighbourhoods. It even has a dry slide off the back of the ship just like, the Oasis class ships. We hope that you liked our cruise line news today. Would you sail to Alaska this summer?
