It was cow milking!! Yes, milking a cow was so much fun and we learned more about homesteading. After seeing all the National Parks in California, our next retirement travel stop was in the Portland, Oregon area. Bev gave John the task of finding something relaxing to do, like a massage or a spa. John was all over it and found a new experience for them. After searching through the Airbnb experiences for relaxation and massage, he found the perfect activity, milking a cow. This was a great activity because neither of us had ever milked a cow before and we didn’t know much about homesteading. We booked an experience with the Jones Homestead and Operation through Airbnb Experiences. They are a homesteading family with a farm near Portland, Oregon. We learned about homesteading, along with all the steps involved in milking a cow and processing the milk. It was a delightful and educational date night.
