This popular ship received a 100+ million dollar update adding new venues, activities, and amenities. So, the Princess and I knew we had to get back onboard the ship after sailing on it for the first time 10 years ago. We are back and want to share everything with you in our Freedom of the Seas Southern Caribbean Cruise Review. If you enjoy the video, please make sure to give it a BIG THUMBS UP! In our In our newly amplified Freedom of the Seas Southern Caribbean Cruise Review, we detail all aspects of the ship, from casual dining, to nighttime entertainment, the bars and lounges, and of course the pool deck. Being our 16th cruise on Royal Caribbean ships, we have come to expect a certain level of service, dining, and an overall cruise experience. The amplified Freedom of the Seas certainly delivered when it came to the updated Caribbean pool deck. We were also fans of the updated sports deck, which included two waterslides and relocating the mini-golf course to the forward decks of the ship. For casual dining, there was the new El Loco Fresh, which included the line's first tequila bar on the pool deck. Although, the ship could have used some additional casual dining spots. We dined in the main dining room on five nights, and spent two nights at specialty dining restaurants. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the new Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen. In fact, we dined here on a second night when our cruise itinerary got extended. As for the main dining room, the service was timely, but the food was a bit disappointing. This (originally) seven night Southern Caribbean cruise on Freedom of the Seas stopped at 4 ports of call. In Aruba, we did an all day off-road tour with ABC Tours Aruba. In Curacao, we did some beach hopping with the local tour company Irie Tours. During our stop in Bonaire, we spent a beautiful morning exploring the coral reefs off the coast of Klein Bonaire with Woodwind Bonaire. Lastly, we took the Island Girl ferry for a beach break at Trunk Bay, St. John’s, during our stop in St. Thomas.
