Day 3 of our P&O Aurora cruise we arrived in Hamburg for New Years Eve celebrations. We explored Hamburg independently and docked in Altona Cruise Terminal which was only a 20 minuted walk to the Old Elbe Tunnel. We visited St Michaels church, explored the central area of the city and enjoyed some traditional German food and drink. Back on Aurora it was celebration/formal night and we enjoyed a festive 5 course meal in the Medina Restaurant. As it was New Years Eve, Aurora was alive with entertainment and music throughout the venues of the ship. We later enjoyed the magnificent New Years Eve fireworks that Hamburg offers.
