After having arrived late into Southampton on the 10th January 2020 the Cunard Ocean Liner "Queen Mary 2" also had a very late departure from the Ocean Cruise Terminal just after midnight on the 11th January. But before her departure for her World Cruise there was a very spectacular fireworks display which had started about 21:30pm while "Queen Mary 2" was still berthed alongside portside in so the passengers on board had to crowd around the stern to watch the display. Later on in the evening when she was due to leave around 11:45pm she could not do so at that time due to a very large container ship the "MOL Trust" that was due to pass Ocean Dock so "Queen Mary 2" eventually got under way about 00:20am on the 11th January which made it a very long night for me to be able to watch the firework display and also to watch her departure for her 2020 World Cruise, we will see her back in Southampton again on the 18th April 2020. Her first port of call on this World Cruise is to Lisbon in Portugal. The fireworks display and departure was viewed from Town Quay.
