Roatan Honduras is one of those cruise ports where you can either stay at the port or get out and explore the island, and in this video we show you how we did both. We booked a private tour in Roatan through Viator with a local guide and explored Punta Gorda, learned about the Garifuna culture, and took a boat ride through the mangrove tunnels that were once used by pirates in the 1700s. Along the way we got real insight into the island from a local perspective, something you don’t get on a typical cruise excursion. We also stopped for local food at Good Island Tastes, which ended up being one of the highlights of the day. After the tour, we headed back to Coxen Hole cruise port to walk around, check out the shops, grab a drink, and show you what the port has to offer.
