Late this afternoon saw the departure of three cruise ships sail out of Southampton for their various destinations, they were Queen Elizabeth, Arcadia and Royal Princess. The first cruise ship to depart was Cunard's "Queen Elizabeth" which left her berth at 16:34pm from the QEll Cruise Terminal she reversed away from her berth and turned around off of dock head and then sail down Southampton Water for Zeebrugge. She was then followed by P&O's "Arcadia" which left her berth at Mayflower Cruise Terminal also at 16:34pm and pass town quay in which she then blew her ships horn at Princess Cruises "Royal Princess" who then returned the salute with a almighty loud blast on her ships horn but only the main horn and not the musical one. Arcadia was off to Stavanger for her next port of call. So that left Princess Cruises "Royal Princess" to make her final maiden voyage departure away from Ocean Cruise Terminal at 17:14pm and as she was leaving she gave a rendition of a few musical notes from the Theme "The Love Boat" and a few minutes later she then done the same again as she got further out and away from Ocean Cruise Terminal and onto her next destination of Vigo. She will be cruising around the Mediterranean for the rest of the summer before making her way across to the Caribbean for the winter months. I doubt if we shall ever witness her return to these waters again, Bon Voyage fair Royal Princess.
